The hub app “Kunstsammlungen & Museen Aux” was designed to digitally connect the numerous institutions of Augsburg’s cultural landscape. Visitors can thus discover the various exhibits and tours of the locations in a low-threshold and user-friendly way.
The app combines themed tours and highlights of the 4 major cultural institutions:
- Maximilianmuseum
- H2-Zentrum für Gegenwartskunst
- Römerlager im Zeughaus
- Schaezlerpalais
The app was designed to accompany the special exhibition “Stiften gehen! How to Make a Virtue of Necessity,” which ran at the Maximilianmuseum from August 28 to November 28, 2021. “To be rich or poor?” – the special exhibition addresses this fateful question in a total of 6 different tours via app. A special feature: a coin toss at the beginning of the tour determines whether visitors experience the tour from the perspective of “rich” or “poor” person.
The app of the Augsburg Art Collections and Museums was created as part of the DIWA project (Das inklusive Wir ins Augsburg) with the kind support of the European Union and the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
