Preparation for the visit & distance learning
In distance learning, the Golem of Graz guides you through the individual learning units and motivates you to immerse yourself in Jewish culture. The app can be easily played from home and can also be used for distance learning in the classroom. The selection of different age groups enables differentiated approaches and levels of difficulty.
Knowledge of Jewish life made vividly understandable
From everyday objects to religious holidays, from Jewish cemeteries to historical monuments, Jewish culture can be explored. As additional motivation and positive reinforcement, a diploma awaits the pupils at the end of the challenge, which they can share with parents, teachers and friends.
Digital mediation in the synagogue – the learning experience continues on site
After a guided tour of the Graz Synagogue, pupils can explore the exhibition space themselves using the app. Learning tasks and additional content on objects in and around the Graz Synagogue are unlocked through patterns. In this way, the knowledge acquired so far can be tested. As an additional playful incentive, scrolls can be collected and at the end you receive a surprise code to open the treasure chest.
Add-on: Interaktive Karte (Jewish History Styria)
Orte jüdischer Geschichte, die es überall in der Steiermark zu entdecken gibt, sind als Points of Interest (POI) auf einer interaktiven Karte markiert und können von User*innen ausgewählt und erkundet werden. Such- und Filterfunktionen der Karte erleichtern die Suche. Hinter jedem POI auf der Karte verbergen sich Geschichten über jüdische Persönlichkeiten und Ereignisse der jüdischen Kultur. Einige exklusive Inhalte können nur vor Ort freigeschaltet werden. Mit der Maps-Funktion des Smartphones kann der schnellste Weg zum POI anzeigen werden.

Places of Jewish history that can be discovered throughout Styria are marked as points of interest (POI) on an interactive map and can be selected and explored by users. Search and filter functions on the map make the search easier. Behind each POI on the map are stories about Jewish personalities and events in Jewish culture. Some exclusive content can only be unlocked on site. The smartphone’s map function can be used to show the quickest route to the POI.
