How can mobility data be communicated in an understandable and effective way? As a technology partner for the mfund project MoDaS, we are developing a platform that translates abstract mobility data into comprehensible storytelling formats.
Together with our research partner TU Ilmenau, we are developing a ‘Mobility Data Story Suite’ that visualises traffic data through digital storytelling. The target group is mobility planners, political decision-makers and citizens. The Mobility Data Story Suite makes complex data interactively available using innovative storytelling methods, thereby improving the efficiency of mobility planning processes.
Project goal
The aim is to find out to what extent common requirements for data access and data-based applications can be derived from the stakeholders’ fields of action. Typical data links, evaluations and intuitive visualisations are prepared as examples of easily accessible mobility data stories. In these stories, the stakeholders’ many years of experience can be combined with innovative data visualisation options. More information can be found on the project website.
