Accessible: with screen readers and AR models
The new guide for the Qantas Founders Museum offers tours, accessible screen readers and a special navigation feature: Matching the aviation theme, animated marshallers show visitors the way around the museum’s extensive grounds by signalling the direction to the next station with hand signals.
The museum exhibits unique historical aeroplanes that visitors can walk around and view directly. However, as the aircrafts are not accessible to everyone due to physical constraints such as steep entrances, AR models of the exhibits offer a barrier-free alternative – allowing people in wheelchairs or older people with mobility impairments to fully experience and explore the special exhibits.
